CAUTION:
Do not use this task unless the rocket is also being replaced. See
Remove Parachute Without Replacing IPS Rocket to replace the parachute without replacing the IPS rocket.
Task Instructions
2. Carefully remove the two shear screws retaining the pick-up collar onto the launch tube near the tip of the rocket motor. Slide the pick-up collar off the rocket motor.
CAUTION:
Watch for FOD from shear screws, as pieces can break off during removal. Make sure to remove all pieces

3. Use temporary zip ties and/or labels to mark harness “C” ends. These must be reinstalled in the same order and orientation later. Remove the three “C” ends that go to the S-fold harness from the large quick link. Leave the remaining parachute “C” end of the harness on the quick link. Close the quick link. It will be shipped with the parachute. Optional: secure/stow the quick link to the parachute bag using the Velcro tab. See Figure 531. Figure 531. 4. Peel the four hook and loop tabs to release retaining straps from the retaining strap brackets. Remove parachute and rocket collar from the parachute bay. See Figure 532. Figure 532. Parachute Bag Installation
