Use the following procedure to repair a portion of insulation on the muffler fairing or muffler shield.

Task Instructions
1. Place transparent material over damaged portion of insulation and draw a circular patch that extends at least 1/8 inch past missing insulation.
2. Cut out pattern and place on raw stock insulation.
3. Carefully scuff surface of muffler shield with Scotchbrite. Wipe with isopropyl alcohol. Dry using lint-free cloth and let stand for 15 minutes.
4. Apply AC-111 adhesion promotor on the area where insulation will be installed. Let it dry for two minutes.
5. Cut out repair patch and apply to shield/fairing ensuring the 1/8 inch minimum overlap is achieved. Verify all patches are rounded. No sharp or jagged corners should exist on patch.
Verification Method
Repaired area of insulation is secure and does not lift at the edges. Insulation does not interfere with installation of parts in
