Task Instructions
1. Use HEP-GAP-V20-230203-EN, E-PROPS PROPELLERS FOR GEAR-DRIVE ENGINES DURANDAL/EXCALIBUR V20 range INSTRUCTION MANUAL for propeller installation.
2. Verify propeller RPM in accordance with the Ground Procedures in Verification Method. Inspect and adjust throttle control position in accordance with Inspect Throttle Control for Proper Travel and Security. If set screw adjustment is necessary, identify which part style is installed (Figure 426).
Verification Method
Ground Procedures:
1. Verify Propeller RPM at full power on ground is between 5,000 and 5,400RPM.
2. Verify Propeller RPM at idle is 1700 ± 75 RPM.
3. Torque all hardware used for installation to final torque values and verify propeller blade pitch after 1 hour of flight.
Note:
To verify torque on the hub hardware, remove the spinner dome.
Flight procedures:
1. Climb to 2,500ft Pressure Altitude.
2. Apply full throttle and maintain altitude. Allow aircraft to gain speed until airspeed stabilizes.
3. Record RPM reading after airspeed is stable.
4. RPM should be 5,500 +/- 80 RPM. Repeat pitching steps if RPM is out of tolerance.
